Malacca History City

Malacca is a famous historic city in Malaysia, and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. It has a long and colorful history, survived through the Sultanate of Malacca as well as European colonization.

 
  • Among famous tourist attractions, are:-

    • Fort A’Famosa – from which the A’Famosa Resort name is taken from, it’s a fort constructed by the Portuguese in 1511. The remains are well kept till today

    • St. Peter’s Church – constructed in 1710 under Dutch administration, it’s Malaysia's oldest Catholic church

    • St. Paul’s Church – constructed by the Portuguese,it was burial ground for the Dutch noble dead. Currently it’s part of the Malaccan Museums Complex.  

    • Stadthuys – constructed in 1650 as the residence of the Dutch Governor, the red colored building reflects the Dutch architecture. Today, it’s the ‘Museum of History and Ethnography’. 

    • Cheng Hoon Teng Temple – located in the core zone of Malacca UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s the oldest functioning temple in Malaysia and grandest temple in Malacca.

    • Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat) – a famous weekend night market, this street is known for its antique goods and peek into local culture & food
